Buy me some highballs and $2.50 Crab Legs, I don’t care if I ever get paid!

Happy June! The Gloom has returned but that doesn’t mean you still can’t bike around with your friends. In fact, I, the Happy Hour Doctor am prescribing at least two happy hours a week to keep the gloom away. It’s way better than spin class, I guarantee it!

1. Hot Dogs! Get Yer Hot Dogs Here!

This June, you don’t have to watch a baseball game (snore!) to eat hot dogs. Clough Club is back at it again with the white vans and has hot and ready franks for all of your Happy Hour Hot Dog eating needs. Who needs arteries when you can spend but a crisp five dollar bill on an upscale, salty meat tube? Every day from 5pm-6pm slide into this upscale, Gastown haunt and enjoy $5 Hot Dogs, $4 Sleeves of Driftwood Beer, $5 Cocktails (select), and $3 highballs.

2. Boil Me Baby, One More Time

North Van? Why? Who? I know. We all have that friend who swears they live within walking distance of the seabus and a trip across the pond comes with the reveal that your friend is a dirty rotten liar! But I am not! and I’m here to tell you about a Seafood Boil. That’s right. Crabs and prawns, mussels and clams, corn and sausage boiled to perfection and served family style. This delicious deal is available at Pier 7 on Thursdays and Sundays after 5pm. It’s a cool $55 for two and reserving 24 hours in advance is recommended. And you can walk there from the seabus, I promise. I googled it. 7 minutes! Trust me, I’m definitely lazier than you.

3. Tick Tock, it’s Beer O’Clock

Beat the clock at Elwoods’ crazy happy hour. To get you in the door early, they’ve got deals starting at 3pm when highballs are only $2.50! Which, to my knowledge, is the cheapest happy hour drink deal in the city. At 4 o’clock the special switches to $3 beers and at 5 o’clock the beers are a ripe $3.50. At 6 o’clock you’ll have to settle for their daily $4 craft draft special, but it’s a fantastic deal and it’s available 7 days a week. Who says Sunday Funday can’t be cheap? Additionally, Elwood’s always has daily food specials. Highlights include AYCE Fish and Chips for $11 on Thursdays, a $6 steak and fries on Sunday, and 40c mussels and $2.50 Crab Legs on Mondays.

4. Pizza Pizza Pizza Time!

Sing the pizza song as you run toward these incredible pizza deals. They’re everywhere! Hit up Campagnola Roma for $20 Pizza and a beer during their Happy Hour, 2:30-6pm and 9pm-close. If you don’t want to go that far east, Pizzeria Barbarella does $1 off ALL their pizzas during Happy Hour, 2pm-5pm or spend just $10 on a Margherita Pizza all day Monday. If you don’t want to hoof it out to Main Street, Gastown’s Nicli Antica Pizzeria has $12 for pizza and a drink between 4-6, Sunday-Thursday. Pizza time!

That’s it for this month. When the weather gods don’t deliver, Brewhound is here for you! See you next month!
